Have you recently felt like you were struck by lightning? Has your world been turned upside down and left you not knowing what to do or which direction to take?
When we are struck by significant change in our life, our world can feel like a roller coaster. Everything can feel like it's upside down, spinning too fast, or as if we are climbing Mount Everest! That awful feeling of being out of control can be the important catalyst we need to get off that roller coaster. So how do we stop the spinning so we can regain our balance and start fresh for the new journey ahead? Adversity has a way of shaking us out of our comfort zones. When things don’t go as planned, our natural response might be resistance, wishing things were easier, or feeling disempowered by circumstances. For many of us, we may be tempted to give up.
So how can we flip adversity and transform this to become our greatest opportunity? Do you feel as if you are constantly on the go - from morning to night - chasing your tail, living frantically by the clock, pushing to get stuff done, just barely making every ‘deadline’? The 'busy' life may be costing us more than we know! So why do we keep on doing it?

Over the past few weeks, I have listened to many people who are going through what they describe as a “sh*t storm” that has rocked their world, and for some, knocked them off their perch. It can be stressful, draining and confusing.
It can be easy to neglect our own needs in favour of taking care of others or prioritising work demands. The danger is when we continue this pattern of behaviour and we ignore the red flags! So what do we risk losing that can have such a huge impact on the rest of our lives? While we often hear about the importance of being kind to others, we sometimes overlook the need to extend that same kindness to ourselves, which can have a negative impact on our mental, emotional and physical well-being. So why is it important to be kind to ourselves? We all experience storms in life. When they arrive, we can be tempted to duck for cover rather than see the amazing opportunity for progress and evolution. Self-reflection and self-assessment are essential if we want to see improvement. But where do we begin?
