When inspiration and motivation come from a place of conviction, from our heart and soul, and not just the mind, then change in the way we see ourself and life becomes possible and sustainable for the long term. At times life can feel challenging, however, as my dear friend has reminded me on many occasions, we have either a choice to sink or swim. We can continue to see ourself as a victim to our circumstances, or believe we are the creator of our life. He often said, “Be the author of your life, the star of your movie”. How big can you dream? Shifting our perspective to see the possibilities opens our creativity. Is it time to give yourself permission to ‘believe’ in what is possible? Disappointments in life will happen, particularly when we have become attached to an idea that something or someone should fit our idea of perfection. However, when we recognise our own soul-power to create in our life, then we are only truly limited by what we believe.
When you focus only on what hasn’t worked, or what you believe will not work, then this is what you draw into your field of awareness and your experience. Our dreams and a life of peace within is possible when we recognise our unlimited Divine potential, when we know our soul-being is capable of living, loving and seeing beyond our limited thinking. Play with the possibilities. Dream big. The law of attraction is based on the principle that our focus, energy and perspective is what creates our reality. When I feel gratitude in my life, I always experience more joy, peace and inspiration. This opens my heart to greater self-love and seeing Divine Love and possibilities in others. Life is creation, and we are always creating. We have the choice to focus on the possibilities, or a life of restraint and restriction. It’s human nature to doubt what we hope is possible, until we experience the evidence for ourself. Some of us like to have the evidence or the proof that something works before we are willing to invest our time, energy or reputation. We are also very prone to forgetting, and we fall back into the same patterns of believing, thinking, speaking and behaving as we have always done. So much of our spiritual growth and maturity is centred around our willingness to trust and listen to our inner voice. It’s our logical mind that likes to resist, provide limitations and is more comfortable with evidence-based thinking. However, this type of thinking means that our reality can be limited to what we currently know, rather than open to expansive thinking and increased awareness of other possibilities. Choosing how we want to think and believe is how we create the life we want to live. So often we limit the possibilities by tuning into what we think we know or focusing on what we believe can’t happen. This comes from a place of fear and doubt. Elon Musk succinctly puts it when he says “If you get up in the morning and think the future is going to be better, it is a bright day. Otherwise, it’s not.” “The Power of Soul Loving” by Rebecca Gabrielle (Balboa Press, 2019, Ch 8 – The Shift Towards Self-Love) www.thepowerofsoulloving.com

Thanks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience of mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
