It’s human nature to want to stay in our comfort zone - which means doing the same thing over and over because it’s easy, familiar and known. As a result we can regularly feel like we are going no-where and experiencing zero progress in our circumstances. It’s a choice to do the same thing over and over and usually it's because we believe change brings pain. So, we opt for ‘no-change’ in our job, relationships, health, home-life or in our finances. So how do make a change to move forward and experience progress? If the choice to change appears to be too difficult, or that it challenges us emotionally or physically, or it seems too risky, we can opt to retreat to what we have always known, even when it’s not serving us. Life becomes like a roundabout or groundhog-day of getting the same results and not realising any progress or sense of fulfilment.
We can fool ourself into believing we are making progress by living what I call - ‘an armchair life’ - remotely experiencing life by observing the lives of others through TV, social media, pub-talks, and office gossip. This is not real life. We must live life in the physical realm, experiencing the contrasts, taking the risk to try something new and receiving the feedback. In the mix of it all we can discover that we are capable of much more than we give ourself credit. Be persistent and committed to owning your life, and living it authentically as yourself. You don’t need to be perfect, however at times you will need to embrace being uncomfortable so you can realise who you can be and what you are capable of achieving. The stories we tell ourself and the circumstances we experience are often a reflection of what we think and believe. They can keep us locked into a mindset of ‘no-change’. Each time we remind ourself of our story, we reinforce a future that will look and feel the same. The key is realising that even though we can be impacted by our external world (which is out of our control), we have the option to choose how we respond. We can choose to be resentful, bitter and disillusioned about our own abilities, or we can choose to embrace the unknown and be curious about the possibilities. If you can say “yes, but ....….”, you can also say “why not ….” and experience something different. Do you want to continue on the roundabout or living an armchair life that results in no change? Or do you want to embrace the possibilities by stepping out of your comfort zone and really living? You may be surprised at the magic that can happen. ~~~~~~ “The Power of Soul Loving” By Rebecca Gabrielle (Balboa Press, 2019, Ch14) https://www.thepowerofsoulloving.com/ Soul coaching and card readings https://www.livingwithspice.com/soul-coaching-for-life.html e: [email protected] #lifepurpose #contrasts #challenges #armchair #commitment #loveyou #noprogress #change #spiritualgrowth #createyourlife #mindshift #livingwithspice #rebeccagabrielle444 Photo by Aleksejs Bergmanis from Pexels
