Change is inevitable in life. It’s why we are here, to experience opportunities for soul growth. When we resist change and we put more effort into staying the same, we become like blocked up drains that prevent the natural flow of love and living energy in our life. One thing is for sure, growth does not happen when we choose to permanently stay in our comfort zone. Growth stretches us and is uncomfortable, and if we have been stuck or blocked for a long time, clearing the heart, mind and body could be a more painful process than if we listen and act when we first feel the call. It’s natural to experience feeling uncertain and unstable during transformation. We may feel we are teetering on the edge of the unknown when we move away from our comfort zone. In many ways, feeling uncertain is the assurance we are on the path of growth. Unfamiliarity can create uncertainty, and certainty is one of the basic human needs. Certainty helps us to feel safe, protected and grounded. For this reason, when people are faced with change, they often avoid it or ignore it.
However, there are times when feeling unsafe is an indication that we need to re-assess whether we are in a good place or not, and whether we are experiencing emotional, mental or physical harm. It’s important to listen to what our inner guidance is telling us. It doesn’t feel good to feel unsafe, particularly if you have felt emotionally vulnerable for a long time. Feeling this way on a regular basis is a sign to stop and listen. Continuing can have profound negative effects. The path to true love begins with being able to increase our level of self-awareness for our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. If we have been de-sensitised to our own well-being, it may take some time to strengthen this awareness or self-perception. When we are living with pain or discomfort, we often shut down or limit our sensory perception in order to focus our attention on what is hurting, or what we want to avoid feeling. As a result we can become numb to our inner guidance system and confusion will reign as we enter into a period of grieving what was, in the face of an unknown future. The process of transformation requires us to let go of what has always provided us the comfort and security we have come to know - our habitual ways of thinking, believing and perceiving our world. This may bring on intense feelings of fear, overwhelm, grief and loss. Emotional, physical and spiritual transformation is a holistic process that is part of our soul’s journey and includes shedding of what is no longer serving us, so that acceptance, healing and new growth can occur. If we are willing to embrace the change, despite our fear of failure, abandonment or rejection, the process can be immensely fruitful. We may not realise we have the inner tools and resources to assist ourself, but if we trust and listen to the inner promptings in our heart and soul, the transformative process will heal and lift us to a new level of spiritual maturity. ~~~~~ Read more in “The Power of Soul Loving” by Rebecca Gabrielle (Balboa Press, 2019, Ch 5, Living on the Edge) https://www.thepowerofsoulloving.com/ Soul Coaching for Life, with Rebecca https://www.livingwithspice.com/soul-coaching-for-life.html#/
