Change is inevitable in life. It’s why we are here, to experience opportunities for soul growth. However, when we resist change and we put more effort into staying the same, we become like blocked up drains that prevent the natural flow of living energy and love in our life. One thing is for sure, growth does not happen when we choose to permanently stay in our comfort zone. Growth stretches us and is uncomfortable, and if we have been stuck or blocked for a long time, clearing the heart, mind and body could be a more painful process than if we listen and act when we first feel the call. For this reason, many of us resist change, and as a result we end up living on the edge of life, never quite being our authentic self. When we choose to live on the edge, we create instability in our life, living a false reality with a mask that enables us to hide from our truth. In this state we can become very adept at justifying our ways of being in order to continue the illusion of harmony and progress. In reality there is a storm brewing beneath the surface because we are in conflict with our truth and our wellbeing.
Sometimes we reach a point of being unable to tolerate the inner turmoil of living against our truth, so we reluctantly and hesitatingly move towards change. Sometimes, we are forced to face personal change when the wheels of change are set in motion by external energies. It’s natural to experience feeling uncertain and unstable during transformation. We may feel like we are teetering on the edge of the unknown as we step away from our comfort zone. In many ways, feeling uncertain is the assurance we are on the path of growth. Certainty is one of the basic human needs, and helps us to feel safe, protected and grounded. For this reason, when people are faced with change, they often avoid it or ignore it. However, there are times when feeling unsafe is an indication that we need to reassess whether we are in a good place or not, and whether we are experiencing emotional, mental or physical harm. It’s important to listen to what our inner guidance is telling us. It doesn’t feel good to feel unsafe, particularly if we have felt emotionally vulnerable for a long time. Feeling this way on a regular basis is a sign to stop and listen to our Higher Self. Continuing can have profound negative effects. When we feel unsafe physically or emotionally it can affect our ability to trust ourself and others. Our survival instinct will urge us to move away from what feels dangerous or unhealthy, whether it’s a toxic environment or the kind of relationships in which we are engaged. For this reason, it’s important we take the necessary action for the sake of our wellbeing. The path to true Love begins with being able to increase our level of self-awareness for our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. If we have been de-sensitised to our wellbeing it may take some time to strengthen this awareness or self-perception. When we are living with pain or discomfort, we often shut down or limit our sensory perception in order to focus our attention on what is hurting, or what we want to avoid feeling. The process of transformation is a metamorphic process of shedding our skin and allowing the mask of our false persona to fall away. As we confront and embrace all of who we are, our shadows and our inner truth, we are faced with a choice ….. to stay where we are, in our pain and self-deception, or to step into fully loving and accepting who we are in this moment. The transformation of our Soul is not for the faint hearted, however it means we can become new, leaving our old ways of ‘being’ behind us, to evolve into a new version of our beautiful and divine Self. Whilst we may initially feel resistance to the discomfort of effective and meaningful change, the transformative process leads us to where we finally desire and deserve to be. It will lead to inner peace and freedom, to where our Soul resides, the home of our true and authentic Self. ~~~~~~~ “The Power of Soul Loving - A Spiritual Guide to Love and Freedom” By Rebecca Gabrielle (Balboa Press, 2019, Ch 5) https://www.thepowerofsoulloving.com/ For more information on the following:
